Shooting Star

by Marc Ortiz   Sep 27, 2014

Have you ever seen a shooting star?
As I gazed upon it for the first time,
My soul wished that it would stay for a lifetime
Because that comet illuminated my lonely heart.

It was a warm, bright and pleasant feeling,
that ignited the stadium on a dark starless night.
Whenever I'm in the presence of this comet,
Every puzzle piece in my life falls into the right place.

But this illusion of being ecstatic,
Will soon be torn when the sun rises.
Because it will soon happen
and that angelic comet will fade into the starry night.

    Hello Marc

This is a well written and sad poem (it surprised me that you put it in the 'love' section).
On the other hand, this shooting star could well be a metaphor for a woman that warms you and makes you feel good about yourself, but come morning, she leaves and reality hits again.

    Either way, great piece.

    All the very best
    Ben
