Sorry Dad

by DarkLight   Oct 3, 2014

Never have I spoken of you,
afraid I might end up being you.
Living in the shadows of my best and shining upon the glitters of my worst.
Lesson learnt.
Bridges burnt.
Feelings hurt.
Still I stand,
Afraid of becoming you.
Taking pride in everything good,
forgetting the price of all that is bad in you.
Miss the days we never spent forever
Wish we had few more years together.
They say life is unfair, try to be fair to life.
From flying top of my world ,
To crawling behind my own shadows.
Watching over my shoulder
Afraid of getting older.
Sorry DAD.
I would have loved you more
but ashamed am turning to be you.

Hmmm...there is always that fear isn't it that we might be turning into someone that we don't like; perhaps due to their qualities, attitudes but at the same time it all depends on how we look at it.

Down the road after many years..when we reflect upon it..we can only find guilt..a touching write.
