Vioano

I perceive the world as music, my love,
though I expect you to know that already.
I try to filter out every movement of our masterpiece
from the cacophony that permeates this city life,
and in the end I will always find them.

Your soul plays like a piano:
perfectly capable of standing on your own.
The vastness of the range between love and living
that your soul plays with every key
is breathtaking, truly, and you don't need others
to complete the harmony of your amazing voice.

Mine is more like a violin:
I can scream out the bittersweet and the sad even alone,
but the best melodies I play can only come
when my sad singing blends together with others;
and my dissonance can make explosive shrieks,
but the beauty of the painful screams lie in my longing.

Because when we play in harmony,
our song - our connected souls - are without boundaries.
Awe-inspiring beauty flows from the top of our fingertips
and into the pristine states of our bond dragging us closer,
as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
And that is the only time I really enjoy my own music.

When I see ourselves in the music that I view everything in,
I see a picture in which my own dark can become beautiful
only when contrasted by your love forever at my side.
Because when you do so, you accept my flawed voice
even though yours is amazing even when singing alone.

So this, my love, this is our story --
this is our song truly, so let's make it our best.
Let us play together, our souls aligned perfectly,
and show the world that we have what it takes.
Show the world that our bonds full of trust and need
are the perfect strings for a violin.

Join me, my love, and let us show the world
that the beauty of any music reaches its peak
only when we are playing together.

Because even though your absence makes my heart ache,
I still hear the sound of your singing every time I close my eyes;

And as your lullabies echo in my mind,
I dream of your voice carrying me to somewhere nice.

I dream of your magic lullabies carrying me
to a a forever in which I can always stay by your side.

Very interesting title, very unique and clever, and I could not think of anything better to title this poem with, great choice!

I really enjoyed this poem, I like how it feels quite honest, and yet has a lot of creativity about it.

I am enjoying your work right now, and although longer poetry can sometimes be difficult or tiring to read, I find with yours that they are laid out in a way that is easy for a reader to hold focus, and the flow you have within them is very easy, very connective from line to line, making it a pleasure to read. It is refreshing to know that longer poems can still be made, and still be amazing!

I adore this little story - and how you took me along with you for the ride... thank you.

    keep writing!!

Omg! I just imagine how you used a simple piano and violin and made this poem a masterpiece..,. And also the title is well apt:)

I guess that's the natural thing to happen when you make music out of the strongest bonds between our souls.

I love the title too! It was completely Maple Tree's idea, so not taking credit for that one, but it's perfect indeed! <3

Jean- I would like to add a few things....

On your title: Piano and Violin is great.. but I might sudgest going a bit futher on it by saying for example: Piano keys and Violin Strings or

Ivory and Strings or go really wild and do this: "Piaolin" Piano and Violin mixed. or ....
"Vioano" that is really fun and adds a new flare to the title. I have been known to do that from time to time and it helps with the message you are trying to display.

Also: Do not re-edit this piece other than maybe play with the title some... because as we discussed in private, this piece is very sacred and in the way it flowed per writing, you never want to edit those... leave them as is... <3

I will do Jean ;-) I really, truly love this work by the way, so incredibly stunning!!!!I know how you feel though (your statement of having to either write a really bleak, or a love poem to do really great) :-P

I love the poem too, actually. And I rarely even like my own poems. Most of the time I just abandon them. But this one? This was a genuine love poem, and it is not mine anymore. It was given away to the person I wrote it for. Haha. It was definitely a fitting poem for my 100th upload on this site too!
