Canadian Rain Shower

by Maple Tree   Oct 4, 2014

It was a chill of early morn that woke me.

Being cloaked for rainshowers
I was oblivious to the sounds
of Canadian geese flying south.

South-

there is a cool coma pause
in that word and no amount
of punctuation can express
my sadness....

I wanted to fly with them
but not sure my wings
could take flight,
as ugly as I have
become, greetings
would not be of a
positive note.

Ugly-
is far more than
vanity when a mud puddle
reveals the anger that
brews within the cauldron
of my soul,
I haven't got the time
to stir those emotions.

The early dawn woke me,
past flew away,
and these rain boots
keeping on dancing
to the sounds
of raindrops
mixed with tears.

This is so beautiful!!! I had to read it since my daughter (not really blood related) is from Canada and I miss my kid so I had to had to read this poem since it caught my attention and I'm not sorry to have read it on an impluse! My God this poem is so beautiful and nice for me I got the vibe of two things it was that you were flying south obviously and you were shunned from either society or some group of people (ducks haha) because of something in past or this is really close you aren't allowed to go one place I have two favorite stanzas though and I so love them!

"I wanted to fly with them
    but not sure my wings
    could take flight,
    as ugly as I have
    become, greetings
    would not be of a
    positive note."

This is so sweet to me in my mind the doubts that fill everyone and everything that seems to leak in your mind for sometimes since when we get shunned we are litterally shunned and everyone will turn their backs to you which would be more sad than being regected the first time meeting someone or someone coming back home but being shunned for they left or something as trivial as that but still a heartfelt stanza to say the least!

    "The early dawn woke me,
    past flew away,
    and these rain boots
    keeping on dancing
    to the sounds
    of raindrops
    mixed with tears."

This is the most beautiful way to end a poem and it's breathtaking!!!! I love the last last part
    "of raindrops
    mixed with tears"
