The reason I nominated this poem, is because this has such a personal touch to it. The way you describe your friend is sweet and touching. The emotions tell you you two are close and with that comes happiness and even love. Even though their bitter side shows, you are still there for them no matter what. And they are there for you until the end. Rose is an excellent word to use to describe someone honestly. Some roses do have thorns , but most people can see past that to seethe beauty it holds inside. This is a lovely dedication to your friend though and I hope they see it.

Now for the small mistakes. I don't love the capitalization of each beginning of a new line, it makes it harder to read. Just capitalize after a period. I think it would flow better if you took away one of the "sweet" in the first line. Otherwise nice poem. I hope you win.
