Jean- I have had poems dedicated to me before and I adore and cherish them. All poetry written is beautiful.

But--- I have never had a poem dedicated to me as a witch and that moves me deeply. To know and read the ways I have touched you and to also know that I was a part of you seeing the light of harmony and that I have inspired you has moved me to tears. You are such a beautiful soul and precious friend to me, with great spirit and vibrancy. I have known that from day one!

Now- Onto the poem... You poured it all out here again and this poem is such an inspirational piece, I am just beside myself .... I am going to nominate this piece, not because I have a personal attachment to it, but because it brings such a positive message to the fore front that can and I hope touches other souls as well. I am truly blown away be this piece!!

When I was young, my great Aunt Elsie said to always ignore Hollywoods description of a witch and or others ignorance as to what a witch is... and to follow the path in truth and light.

Always remember: All beings, creatures and even the soil beneath our feet are sacred and should be treated with respect and when in darkness my sweet Jean, there is and always will be light <3

When I read what your great aunt Elsie used to say, I for the first time realized why I wrote the poem like it actually is now. I could have used all manner of words to describe you, and your role, overall. But I chose a single word, and kept to it: Witch. I think that after understanding what a Witch is (which I have done for very long, we don't actually have religious people hurting our own witches in the same way. Nothing is in the open, or taboo in the same way, in Sweden), I simply had to paint the real picture.

To an extent, anyone who knows how to live for a living is a witch. Maybe even every single person that knows how to appreciate the world, and seek harmony, is a witch - whether self-proclaimed or not. Maybe that's all it takes. Maybe it's not. The reason I even bring this line of thought up is because I desire for the perception that people have of the very word to change. To reclaim it as a positive, and to normalize it as beautiful.

Jean this is absolutely magnificent,a truly magical piece, the way you've changed the mood from one of anger hatred and despair to one of joy love and absolute wonder at the beauty of life, and done it so flawlessly,I simply must applaud you.also I love that you have shown, fearlessly, that you deny all the empty faiths of this world, and I do agree with you that witches are amongst the very few, and perhaps the only people in this world that do not need to be believed in, in order to practise their beliefs and follow their paths of harmony and unity with the world at large, many have persecuted them and called them evil, but Infact they are perhaps the most peaceful of beings.congrats on this magnificent work :-)

This was one of the biggest reasons I put so many words into describing the contrast. People have misconceptions about witches, and pretty damn dangerous ones at that. People view the very word as a symbol of everything vile and corrupting.

I wanted to deny this ignorance. I wanted to showcase who a Witch is, and reject the empty hypocritical divine righteousness upon which shallow husks filled with blind faith overwhelm them with. Witches teach us harmony, and the magic of life. A witch is maybe the person who appreciates life the most.

Oh my goodness! I am in love with this poem! I connect so much with most of the things you have said here. I feel like I am actually in this poem with you.

The title is amazing, and I love how you have made this quite unique and then gave us a little lesson at the same time.

I was not expecting your poem to be so honest and emotional, not from the title which it has!! that surprised me.

I also think it is a touching poem because you have dedicated to someone who we all know, and who we know is cherished on this site very much.

about the content of the poem, I feel it speaks louder than the metaphors or poetic skills that is within it, it is simply from the heart, it is like you have really opened up and took us back to the place where you began, and what is was like for you through your eyes, in your mind, and how you viewed the world, and although I understand things do not grow perfect overnight, I like the twist in the tone of this poem, and how it can change slightly, slowly, and how hope can begin to build and this gives you more hope. you take what you need in life, what is good for you, and you do not worry too much about the rest.

I adore this write so much, well done, and thank you for sharing!

I truly loved this! So many people have such harsh and unfounded views of witches and I love how you so beautifully and vividly portrayed what we truly are meant to be and our role in the world. Wonderfully written and worded and truly captures the soul of what it is to be a witch. Work of art
