Dark Disease

by shadow   Oct 7, 2014

Casualties all around me
One by one they fall
Flames consuming hungrily
Until there is no one left at all

Like a disease without a cure
Darkness was always a part of me
Born heir to its curse
It plots its moment to be free

I pushed it down and down
Until the bottom it did reach
And then it grew and grew
Until I couldn't hold its breach

Now I stand here all on my own
With these faces staring back at me
Fear widening their eyes
But even then they cannot see

Suddenly it bursts outward
And I move forth with a new kind of energy
Screams of pain and release bubble out
As this darkness consumes my entirety

Casualties all around me
As far as these eyes can see
A heir to this curse I may be
But now I have been set free

I'll let this darkness take me...
