Fading Away!

by Zabadak   Oct 13, 2014

Another dull, drab, unfeeling, unthinking moment in time,
Void of laughter while others laugh, of fun while others play,
Sadness, annoyance and anger in their place,
Silently crying out while true self fades and dies...

Impossible to laugh, unwilling to speak,
Silence takes over; lost words and confused sentences unheard,
Happiness gone; wandered off to make room for desolation and gloom,
Purpose and reason evade me...

Silently crying out while true self fades and dies...

    Powerful words!

You use a contrast again within the poem, using one feeling which you feel, and describe that, then compare it to a feeling that others seem to have which you can't find for yourself.

I think this poem speaks volumes about depression, and becoming lost in that dark place. It can make you feel so alone, and like the rest of the world has something better, that you will never be entitled to.

I like the layout of this poem, and how you have used a lot of punctuation to join up lines and images, instead of using joining words such as "and" or "but" ...

I also like the repetition in this poem too, it works really well and leaves the reader with that impact of how the author felt at the time of writing, a feeling which many will relate to!

    Great job.
