I thought you were my soul mate,
I thought you'll always be there,
To understand what I love,what I hate,
To show me how much you care.

I told you how much it hurt,
I tried to explain it best,
I spat out all the dirt,
Lifted such a burden from my chest.

Thanks for listening to me,
Thanks for lending me advice,
But my pain,my sorrow you failed to see,
You just tried to show that you're nice.

All I wanted was for you to understand,
To make me feel like I exist,
But I feel like I'm from another land,
Like I'm completely lost in the mist.

I waited by the phone all day long,
Just waiting for you to say"hey how are you?"
My stereo bellowed song after song,
But I just waited,wishing none of this were true.

I know you have others to care for,
They may mean much more to you,
But I thought you were my friend for sure,
I'm just lost without a clue.

Anyway enjoy your life my friend,
You surely have left your mark,
A helping hand to me you did lend,
By leaving me crying in the dark.
