Comments : Shadow Child

This definitely seems like a personal poem. Someone was not there for you when you were younger, and as you grew older you felt like you became more invisible to the world. You isolated and unattached yourself from the world. Or honestly it might just be about your shadow, how it was there for you every step of the way, but I definitely think it is deeper than that. I cannot do this poem justice by leaving a long comment, but overall this is a difficult poem to read. Feel of heart and emotion. 5/5

Such a painful read, yet so compelling.

To me it comes across as an estranged parent, wanting to part of a child's life yet being rejected. As if the child blames the parent for walking out and will not allow them back in for fear of further hurt.

With the final stanza it is as if the parent feels that this growing apartness is their well deserved punishment and they will embrace it as such.

    A very emotional write.
