Imperfect Memory

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 19, 2014

Imperfect memory,
please confess your
hidden secrets which
I cannot seem to find.

Reality rages
through uninvited dreams,
harbouring my fears
and every obscure flashback
that has played throughout
the years.

Chilled to the bone,
I abruptly waken...

... I beg of you
imperfect memory,
confess your deepest
secrets that my
subconsciousness
spends every torturing night
trying to figure out.

Oh wow saffie, I think a lot of people who suffer with anxiety and depression go through this every night. I believe imperfect memory could be something blocked out from your past that is causing you to feel this way. Dreams can be nightmares within a subconscious mind. Especially when you think about a ton of things before you fall asleep. I loved the third and last stanza. Because it tells me you have awakened unexpectedly and in a panic, and that this nightmare is recurring. Your mind is always trying to figure out what is causing you so much pain. Overall this is an excellent write. 5/5
