Cryptic Crap!

by Zabadak   Oct 20, 2014

When you write poetry it's meant to be read,
By people who want to read all that you've said,
Your stories, emotions, heart and soul,
...and not just Cryptic Crap!

Words are not poetry, when meaning is dead
Words mean nothing, if nothing is said,
Forget the thesaurus and write from your head,
...and not just Cryptic Crap!

And if you are trying to be something you're not,
And have written in cryptic that nobody got,
Think of your readers and spare them a thought,
...leave out the Cryptic Crap!

I would still love to master the flow you seem to have a talent for in your writing! There is always a beat to the lines and the words seem to just roll on your tongue which makes the poem very enjoyable!

I love the poem message and content, showing a simple poem about the complicated poems that are all too often over worded, filled with unnecessary descriptions or words that don't seem to connect to anything or add anything to the poem! I fall into this habit myself often, and put metaphors before meaning, which can make my poems cryptic toy readers!

I think many people on here will relate to this poem because we often understand our own cryptic work, and struggle to break down the cryptic words of others!

    Great poem!

Brilliant! What a great message, sometimes it's easy to get so caught up with finding a rhyme or trying to sound clever we forget to write from the heart and lose the true meaning of poetry.
    Thanks :)
