Winter's Hell

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 29, 2014

A falling star
becomes enclosed
within a galaxy filled
with smoke.

Confusion and fear
soars through her mind,
as the bright light
she once knew so well,
turns into blackness
like winter's hell.

Depression stabs her hope
with knives as sharp as ice,
devoted to destroying
every piece that remains
until hope becomes extinct,
and this falling star
becomes an existence
enclosed inside
the blackness
of winter's
hell.

Winter is always great to compare to cold feelings, as in depression or sadness because it works well with the wording to capture the piece you are writing. There used to be a bright light, which I think was the person you loved in your life and now all that space is filled with is winter cold. This depression is griping at you and as much as you try to fight, you cannot shake it off. And right now it is all that you are feeling. This piece is great because it does not stray from the message you are trying to send. 5/5
