Letter to the friend I lost at sea

by Saerelune   Oct 29, 2014

Dear Amaya,

Sometimes I am reminded of you,
the girl in the storm, an archipelago of dreams
surrounding you like a buoy that's out of reach.

And sometimes I find your poetry,
a marvelous coincidence, bobbing up
like a bottled letter, reaching out for me.

We used to trace scars like comet tails,
searching for the afterglow of a wish, hoping
that burning would make us forget about drowning.

Now we're as silent as the moon,
(I guess that's why it shies away each morn)
but I'm hoping that you've found your way home.

Best regards,

Your little Luna.

This piece is gorgeous. The imagery is beyond stunning and it is penned perfectly for being short and vivid and still as heartbreakingly stunning as is.

    Phenomenal job.
