Revengeful Heart

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 2, 2014

I can feel my heart beating silently,
so I guess that proves it's there.

I feel entirely inhumane
when I think of wishing you dead -
I become as cold as you!

A slight moment of guilt
sinks inside my heart,
which you scarred with shame.
But every year that passes
tells me that this guilt and shame
was never mine to own.

And so I twist the sharpest dagger
inside your evil heart, then pour
poison of responsibility and blame
deep inside your pathetic soul.

I can feel my heart basking in revenge,
so I guess that proves it's still there.

Whether it be a bad or good emotion is all that matters to know our heart is still alive. When a tragedy happens, we often blame ourselves when in reality we are the victim. I guess our brains are wired to not blame others when it is truly needed or sometimes we never blame ourselves when it is our fault, it is a two way street. In this poem it seems like this person at first feels a little bit of guilt and shame for getting hurt, but then knowing her heart is still alive, wants revenge for what happened to them. To use this in metaphor works well. You have dark intentions with clever "karmatic" responses. You feel as if karma will get to this person sooner or later. Great write to express how you feel in ties to an event after the fact.
