Poets

Can you hear the poet's whisper,
echoing through pages of metaphorical pain?

Can you see the poet's journey,
progressing through every rhythmical storm?

Can you feel the poet's soul,
spelled out through every letter on every line?

And in the stillness of this winter,
can the poet's turn together to keep each other warm?

Can they understand the words unspoken,
from similar hearts which too have once been broken?

Excellent poem..... I do agree with beautiful soul that we are all the same voice with different bodies.

If you have experienced the same things in life I believe we can feel what others feel. Most poets have a keen sense of what others go through, as they themselves have gone through some sort of bad experience. Loved the cuplet lines here I think you gave it a stronger message with the shorter poem. Why do we speak through metaphor? Are we afraid of getting hurt once more and then having that hurt reflect off someone else? We are drawn towards what we have been through and maybe that's why a lot of what we write is the same. We are all the same voice in different bodies. Wonderful write. 5/5
