Felice (Acrostic Mix)

by Maple Tree   Nov 3, 2014

Gazing into a shattered woman's soul.

I found her in me a few years before,
I knew she would never be alone
again.

To be broken-
Insecurity was birthed
before she knew how
to see warning
signs, left her vulnerable
for abuse.

She is not weak,
her limbs can climb
trees, mountains,
to the universe
and back again if she
wishes to do so,

but her soul is dying-

I look into her eyes,
seeing the light
shining, begging to burn
embers she never knew
existed.

"When a broken winged bird learns to fly again,
she never leaves the side of a fellow
injured soul"

I shall teach you,
it's better to fly with a friend
than to fly alone....

Feathers
Emerge from
Loving
Intentions
Caring for you
Eternally.

Wow Maple - this must be one of your most touching poems yet!

For me, it describes a bond of true friendships. When strangers met, yet knew instantly they would never have to be, or feel, alone again. A bond was met, and in time that bond grew to be so strong, and very special.

The other person seems to have had some struggles in their life, and they also seem to have no self confidence within them, like they deserve to be treated with no respect or love. However, in your poem, you show this friend that you will be there for them every single step of the way.

Your wording really is beautiful, and to use the bird in flight again is a beautiful metaphor because we may feel broken, and experience that feeling of hopelessness, but with love, like you mention in your acrostic verse in the end, anything is possible and the light will shine again.

A very true poem of friendship and courage!

    I love this!
