Homeless Star

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 4, 2014

A bright shimmer
soars across a cloudless sky,
strong and clear as explosions of dust.

Enclosed in a galaxy of differences,
seeking a home to belong to
in this twisted world of destiny.

This bright shimmer
sprinkles tears of hopelessness,
becoming shrouded amidst a black hole,
where memories wonder
and light vanishes from the Earth.

First: What great metaphors and imagery within this poem! A star can be very lonely indeed. A bright shimmer shows that the star is there, alone. A cloudless sky tells me that you can see the stars very clearly at this night and they shine bright.

Second: you'd never think a star to be homeless with everything that is going on around it, but it is and it proves how everything is different from each other. Another thought could be you are comparing yourself to the star and showing compassion to it, because you understand what it is like to be lonely and maybe even homeless or different. This world is definitely twisted indeed.

Ending: This is my favorite stanza as well. The tears can be a thought of rain and when the stars (cry) or it rains they are sad. And the memories it holds fades into a black hole where they are lost forever. And with it light fades away from the stars life or your life. This is a great poem. 5/5
