Consequences Of Walking Away

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 4, 2014

You have no right
to turn your back on me
and walk straight out my life,
only to return six years later
because I might be of use to you!

I never expected much from you,
in fact I didn't even ask,
I just naively believed
that you would have believed in me.

But my heart is not a weapon
to use for your revenge,
neither is my voice.

So I leave you wallowing
in your own consequences
of walking out my life!

First: wow saffie this poem as a whole is powerful and I can tell you put your whole heart into it. This person walked out of your life six years ago for some unknown reason and recently returned because they thought they could use you, but now that you are older you are much stronger and can overcome this. What a powerful start that truly pulls the reader in.

Second: As a teen I think we all want someone to believe in us and even if it is only one person, that is enough. It seems like you once looked up to this person, only to be so disappointed in them that you might have blocked them out, only to have all the memories come flooding back.

Third: No heart is a toy that you can use whenever you want to, it's there for someone to love and not use. Nothing is about revenge, though it seems like in this world nowadays it is. A voice can be a powerful tool. But it is your own and not for anyone else.

Ending: This is where karma kicks in and your silent revenge comes to life. They are now punished for walking out of your life, I love this poem as a whole saffie, well done.
