Better off in the end

by Cody   Nov 8, 2014

Why do I let you play with my heart
You've done it from day one, right from the start
If it's not meant to be, please tell me now
So I can let my heart move on somehow

I'm tired of this game you're playing with me
Took me awhile to actually be able to see
That you don't love me like I love you
So why lead me on? I know you knew

Wasting my time, wasting my life
All along I thought someday you'd be my wife
But you played me good with absolute perfection
In the mirror now I see no reflection

An empty man is now who I am
You lead me on and never gave a damn
You called me selfish but just look at you
Held onto my heart while you could never be true

So this is it, I'm giving up on us
No looking back, ain't even gonna fuss
I know now that my broken heart will mend
And I'll be better off in the end

Some of the rhymes are a little weak or feel forced but this is a wonderful write. I love how honestly you poured your heart out to us as readers. Excellently penned.

Im so sorry for whatever inspired you
