Loneliness

Loneliness
Such am empty feeling
Leaves me broken down
And my spirit reeling

To look around
And see no one there
Makes me question
Does anyone care

Sometimes it lasts
Only for a season
Sometimes it lasts
And I have no reason

Being alone
Staring off into space
Sometimes makes me want
To finish running my race

Because the feeling of lonely
Is the worst I know
Down and out all the time
No sunshine or glow

So once again
I'll walk this road
Lonely and lost
And carrying the heaviest of loads
