Justified - (song with recording)

by Maher   Nov 13, 2014

You claim the world sits in your locker,
to wait on your desires.
You're the purest in the room,
the dream that passed us by.
Would it take the calls of ether,
to draw attention from those eyes?
A reckless revelation,
a tumbleweed of lies.

All the attention that you squandered
is lost within the tide.
And all the enjoyment that you longed for,
I've cast it all aside.
With all the affection that you dreamed of,
now hidden from your sight.
You feel it's all come down to nothing.
I feel it's justified.

You carved your image out of paper,
enthroned it - idolised.
Ignored the message of the reaper,
unveiled from your disguise.
Sold your story to a preacher,
with a tongue between your eyes.
Then faltered on to be his saviour,
through the bindings of your thighs.

All the attention that you squandered
is lost between the tides.
And as the waves wash, I can hear you,
but I've cast you to the side.
With all the affliction that you brought on,
that you brought into the light.
You feel it's all come down to nothing.
Well I feel it's justified.

Patience awaits a desire. When it's over, result is called.

Wow, this is a great poem. Had me from the start. I would say I love how you made this to where the reader can picture what is going on..

"Sold your story to a preacher,

Then faltered on to be his saviour,
through the bindings of your thighs."

    Great job! 5/5

Thanks for reading it! It's a pretty mellow tune - would be a lot better if you could hear it. I suck at singing but the guitar sounds nice though :)
