Randomness

by Everlasting   Nov 16, 2014

What to do? What to do?
with these dates in my head
stretching up to here and there:
right there, right here
in between, right beneath
somewhere, somewhere
in here.

But What to do, what to do
with these letters that stretch
from my fingers onto a screen
and the ink never fades
nor the ink
ever dies,
it just transports from here
and there, somewhere in here
somewhere in there
right beneath a screen,
No, right inside a screen
like my head.

like my head
full of curls that straighten when I think
and the ideas fade but not the ink
the ink continues coloring
a hair - black or brown
I can't tell.

I can't tell
if black or brown is the table
where I write,
or if it's silver like computer type
that goes and sits
on my lap and laps
my attention
with a flash

with a flash from a picture
of you and me,
playing with Photobooth
building memories
and dates
imprinted in my mind
right here, right there,
right beneath somewhere,
somewhere
in here

into my chest.

I like the randomness! Each stanza has vivid imagery and I could visualize-computer screen, lap tops, letter pads and other things along the way.

Its interesting to read the many feelings that come out of each verse and to view the way thoughts of the writer taking shape...enjoyed it!
