Carry On

by liliumity   Nov 18, 2014

Carry on with your lives,
your day to day dreams
Your nightmares and wishes,
Your hopes, whatever they be.

Carry on with your ways,
I'll keep on with mine.
Don't get in my way;
We'll get along just fine.

But if you're a jerk,
if you're phobic or a bigot
We're gonna have a problem,
a big one, so listen:

Being gay is okay.
Being straight is too.
Who cares about skin?
Be they black, white, or blue

I've got no problem with women,
I am one, in fact
Life without us? Well,
Good luck with that.

We're all created equal.
That statement's never wrong.
So everybody should just
keep calm and carry on.

Carry on, indeed. Straight forward and to the point. I like the flow and rhythm as well as the sincerity in this poem.
