Something Overlooked

by Maple Tree   Nov 18, 2014

Hidden grooves in knotches
Of base boards hold a valuable
Sense of me.

I've grown tired of concealing
Shadows for the sake of
Appearance.

These dusty tears feed off
Of strength, cleansing
Is much more than a
Hot shower.

This mind of mine
Whispers to me daily,
Questioning sanity
Through vanity.

Speaking in stanzas
Is a straitjacket, a
Comfort in a world
Of fear and rejection.

This is where I hide,
In poetry.

My daughter read this to me a while back, I had no idea what to say about it at first other than "Interesting" but now that I am looking at the words for myself, I get it. It is much easier to realize what you were saying and just how important your poetry is to who you are and what you will become in the future.

    I really like this!

This is very beautiful Andrea, it's so honest and raw that it's as though the reader is looking into your very soul when reading the words,a truly magnificent piece that gripped me with it's layers of emotions
