Neon Lights - Saffie's Contest

by Everlasting   Nov 20, 2014

When stars fall like rain
like liquid drops of fluorescent moisture,
streets will be showered with neon,
people will be showered with neon,
everything will be showered with neon,
trees,
oceans,
even the seeds
of this apple
on the table
will be showered with neon
The glass of water
on the sink
will be showered with neon
My skin
will be showered with neon
The world will be showered
with neon:
with effulgent lights,
with luminous lights
with swashes of
colorful glimmers
splashing everything with neon

and I,
will just watch.

I'll watch the world
being suctioned,
distorted with light

I'll watch the universe
become a big lamp,
I'll watch the colorful lights
become like hotel signs
I'll just watch
but at some point in time
I'm afraid
everyone will have to
close their eyes.

Ha! I love the essay. I think I need to borrow your muse for a sec, may be, if I do, your muse might help me find mine, and I too could write an essay as comments. XD

    thank you!
