The reasons I'm still sleeping.

Guilt snatches me out
of cozy winters,
and with a ten
digit phone call,

I'm cleared.

I can't admit that
my demons almost
woke within me,
invoking knives
and sewers and
sinkholes.

How can I stitch
my head on right?
How can I better
ride this naive
river as it envenoms
my will?
