Little Girl [2014]

by Shark Puncher   Nov 26, 2014

Sully and intelligent and with naught a fret in the world.
Luggin' a worldly backpack 'round despite being a tiny-framed little girl.
She is imbued with the gift of sorcery, equivalent to a modern day djinn,
She flails fire from her fingertips and conjures lightning from within.
Her eyes command the universe, and her thoughts can halt time itself,
She can liquefy existence with a few mutterings of her mouth.
Aesthetically, she seems to be just another brick in the wall.
Nobody would suspect her - no, nobody at all.
Oh, but one day she was crossed and her blood began to boil.
She felt currents trickle through her veins and her mood began to roil.
The ground beneath her feet eroded, and the sky bled an eerie shade of gray.
The air became pungent to breathe and flowers and trees started to decay.
Her fingers, started trembling as she muttered some archaic words,
Birds dropped from the sky as the horizon started to become blurred.
They hit the pavement in bloody piles and their hearts ceased to beat.
Pestilence and anarchy started to extrapolate in the streets.
She felt her vocal chords twinge, she had the sudden urge to shriek.
Like a banshee from the netherworld or a demon in one's sleep.
Her eyes rolled back into her skull as she let out a mighty roar.
Gravity became a fantasy and everything collapsed to the floor.
Lost was their sense of hearing; lost was their ability to think.
Their consciousness was fleeting and their brains began to shrink.
The girl, peered around, and smirked at all the carnage she had dawned.
And laughed a soulless laugh just as mutant bats begun to spawn.
The bats eclipsed her figure, she waved her hand and spoke aloud:
"Veni, vidi, vici..." and then vanished into the clouds.

This is fantastic. Your vocabulary, rhyme, and rhythm are fabulous. Veni, Vidi, Vici, aka I came, I saw, I conquered, was very fitting.

    PERFECTION!

    5 STARS!
