Alchemist

by Hannah Lizette   Dec 8, 2014

The chemistry that travels
along my veins and
sips on the perception
of love dangles freely
from a hemorrhaging quill.

Words melt from the vial
of my heart, each syllable
an anchor to the golden
memories we once shared.

At one time, I promised to
be the conductor of every
experiment your heart
desired -

but time changes
more quickly than lead.

You take a metaphor such as Chemistry and craft it into a somber love piece... you are my favorite because of the beauty you write... just lovely!

This one is different. But in such a good way. I love how you used chemistry, because love is supposed to be about having chemistry with the person you connect with. That coincides with the writings you create because words can have so many different meanings, and here you remember all the good times you have had with a person. One time you promised this person the world, and you would do anything for them, but time always wins and makes us grow older. Love the title, because you are the conductor of your own life and your experiences and experiments at times. Love this 5/5
