A new age.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 12, 2014

You and I will deny the smoke, dust, rotting
carcases that hiss underneath our boots. Storm
these grounds, hands clawing at each others'
hearts just to acknowledge that life thrashes
in the torrent of oblivion.

Do what you must, color your eyes with
whatever you wish to inhale- the mauve
skies, amber rivers, unfilled homes. This is
not where we will thrive. Peek below those
eyelids, beyond the skin they said was
a grail to be preserved.

Be the vessel to hold new life, even if you must
remind me every hour that I will breathe again
without you.

Listening to "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. Also was thinking of The Walking Dead while writing this, just started the first season.

MaryAnne, crafted her wording in such a vivid and powerful way within this poem. I love her talented gift of writing, she paints of a picture of graphic torment, horrific mental displays, to describe feelings. Being inspired by zombies and then tie it into her feelings and then to create such a lovely write?? Yeah that blows me away. Wonderful, just wonderful!!!

All has been said about this fine write. Anything more I say will not sound right.

I like how this write has all the emotions filled in it using right choice of words to bring or rather for the reader to feel the emotions. A want without wanting...or perhaps a wanting without a want-if that made sense :)

    Congrats on the win!
