Hurt

HURT

I looked back at yesterday and saw my mistakes,
Full of wrong choices and plenty of heartaches.

I wondered why my choices had been so wrong,
Who could I ask to help me along?

I fell to my knees and held my hands in prayer,
I cried out dear God, are you there?

A warm light filled my being to place me at ease,
It was the Spirit of God that had came to please.

As the time passed inexorably slow, I failed to the progress I had hoped I would grow.

His omnificent greatness filled my head,

"You have not the humility to go where my Son tread."

"Once you die to self and worldly desire,
You will grow to be spiritually inspired."

"You must abandon the gods of possession,
And seek me out for intercession."

"My greatest desire is to fill your heart,
And guide you to freedom once you do your part,"

This lamentable story is not near completion,
I have mountains to climb and His strength not to weaken.
