Joy In The Morning

by James Garrett   Dec 16, 2014

The hour is late, the pains of body and mind draw nigh,
And as we retire we look to peaceful rest feeling nothing awry.

Our hope is that the morning may bring a steadfast desire,
To begin our labors over and awake fully inspired.

But most of all, with morning comes a beautiful rising sun,
With chirping jays and soulful sounds of turtle doves
preparing us to once more feel young.

A deep breath of the morning breeze,
A prayer of thankfulness to place our minds at ease.

And then comes a thought quiet warming,
To sing out quiet forcefully, Joy in the morning!
