Wolf Pack

by Rainbow Writers   Dec 18, 2014

Wolf packs are tight knit families
often protectors of their brothers
and sisters. Our members stand tall
against any force brave enough to seep through.

We travel along the moonlit
trails in search for fellow comrades,
following the tracks of our history
and arriving back home at our den.

Each of us have our own skill
we bring something perfect to the
table, and yet we're strong enough -
brave enough to make it on our own.

The moon calls us each night
and we run in it's silver glow
Singing out the freedom of wind
in our hair and life in our hearts.

Our mournful howls ringing in the crisp frigid air, telling our stories for anyone to hear.

A thick fog covers the forest floor
like a twinkling midnight blanket,
while a young Mowgli romps with
fellows pups, practicing his howl.

Our bonds are so strong,
family runs in our blood.
We all run, walk and hunt
to the same tune,
like the beats of a drum.
The moon guides our path
the smell in our nostrils
to the scent of sweet prey.
We dine as a pack,
family until the end
a pact stained in blood.

Thanks for hosting again, James. Great job everyone.

That one long line aggravates me though... do ya think Fenix would care if ya formatted it to fit the rest of the poem? I can't help my OCDness... sorry.

    Anyway... woot. We rock.
