Our Bones Drown in Ecstasy

by Faithless Watermelon   Dec 18, 2014

Silent bones whisper nameless thoughts,
their solidarity inviting to nervous lucidity.
Mellifluous dreams of chocolate tragedies,
real to me - but reality is fleeting
like warm air on shivering skin.
Molten earth rains courteous fury
from the wise security of distance.

I see purple,
red and blue,
rage and hope,
rage and hope -
she cried to me,
"who are you?"

I am governance and dismay,
the imagined power of control,
the way death dies in springtime.
I am winter and agony
for those that only seek beauty
in the comfort of warmth.
I am nebulous and righteous,
a golden pupil wreathed in flame,
exhausted and restless,
resolute and lackadaisical.

May the traitors who swim
above the water
ignore the danger,
may the sky suck the water
from beneath their wings
and ignore their horror.

Only in arms,
only in arms,
only in arms
may we find
our way forward.

You must embrace the flow of time
and stop your feet
to know that love follows
close behind.
Look behind you,
I am your back,
the surface,
only nothing
until necessity
beckons us.

You are mine.
Such averted gazes,
strife bequeaths destiny
and my fears are
that we may never
stop sometimes.

We are one!

I like the perspective you used for this piece. Not only unique to you but beautiful enough to bring life to the page. Well done :)
