My night with you

It was great not to have you asleep with me on the phone,
Instead I had you there next to me in the bed to myself all alone.

We tried to sleep but it was so hot,
How nice it was to have you next to me it's been a while I nearly forgot.

I don't know about you but to me it still feels right,
Having you next to me to hold when I wake up through the night.

I'll let you know I slept really well,
I'm so glad I didn't snore an keep you awake I can tell.

I'm not going to lie to you or pretend,
That I didn't what the morning to come or the night to end.

Morning come I got up and made you a tea.
I never want to lose it again that feeling of pride you being with me.
