Outside, the world is charred.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 23, 2014

I'm looking forward to
you. And that's why I
can't turn around.
Because if I live in
reverse, Death will
never grant me wisdom.
I will never be able to
perceive what life is
without reflections
we must chew like
tobacco.

I will wait here, no
matter if the devil tempts
me behind my back,
no matter if the seasons
want my autograph.
No, none of that will
matter until we are a

legacy.

Outside, the world is
charred. But inside,
the world is a womb.

And we are just
beginning to grow...

Oh no! Another one! What an impact at the end, such a powerful way to end!

I like the opening here, I was in love with that idea of looking forward, and not turning back, and then you mention the temptations that can lead you back, but you know it will only lead to darkness.

I saw your motivation for this poem, the song by L, quite impressed how you managed to come up with this from the song, you have a real true gift of being able to make poetry from prompts.

Really love the comparison between your inside world and outside world. Nicely done.

    Enjoyed this one too!
