Last Smile

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 29, 2014

In the poring rain
on the cold cobbles of the street,
I fake a smile,
as tears drop from my eyes.

Watching you breathing
for the last time,
but wanting my smile
to be the last thing
your eyes ever see.

Holding you in my arms
as you die so quietly,
at least you died knowing
how much you meant to me.

Very fantastic poem. Filled with grief and loving emotions. The last smile that you gave would definitely be the best thing to see before dying. It's not easy to smile while you are watching your close people dying because you are in a crying state. But you have executed this write very well. Nicely done.
