Raised Eyebrow- City Life Saga

by Maple Tree   Dec 30, 2014

I raised an eyebrow once,
On a street corner of Eagle
And ghetto.

Two in the afternoon sun
Boiled upon my sheepish
Skin, pools of sweat began to
Form a gathering like a girls
Lunchon.

A man in a floral print dress
With hairy legs and a cigar
Sticking out of his husky lip,
Was standing alone singing
A frank Sinatra diddy.

This was not a safe area
For personal expression-

But it was I who was out of
Place, a raised eyebrow upon
My face.

He greeted me with a smile
As a pack of thugs drove by
And we both stood there in
Silence.

I knew I was in Oz,
There was no yellow brick road,
And I now call it home.

Oh My Holly Lord, this is just breath taking, that closing part was really well thought of and well knit.
I am totally into this short-form of lines, it's quite flowing.

There was this touch of thrill and wonder, something a bit mysterious, perhaps the personal tone.

Just incredible write Maple Sweet Tree of hope and love and light <3
