Forgiveness Of Denial

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 4, 2015

You may hate me for the rest of your life,
but I refuse to hate you for the rest of mine.

I told the truth about the man you say you love-
a truth you always tried to hide,
and the world around me overheard.

Telling this truth has set me free,
I named and shamed what he did to me.

But I stopped hating you long ago,
for I told you exactly what you needed to know.

And I hope one day you will open your eyes
and see through the truth which he still denies.

Picked out as I could see it hadn't been rated/commented on. It comes with an important message in that it is usually best to tell the truth, however hard that is and whatever the consequences. I love the short stanzas - it's almost like you're ticking off the merits of your choice to tell. Excellent.
