Disintegrating Walls

The walls I built around myself
are now coming crumbling down -
I am finally ready to let you in.

I apologize for shutting you out
but I didn't want to let you close
just to watch you walk away.

My walls kept so much distance
between us, and we started growing
further and further apart -
although you never walked away.

And now my walls have found a way
to finally let you in,
I'm ready now for you to stay.
