As Silhouettes Talk

by PinkyPrincess   Jan 5, 2015

Lost souls, we met
in a familiar place.
Two hearts, carrying
more than they could lift.

We lived in the same
fictional romance novel.
Handwriting a new page
one day at a time.

Counting our blessings
more than our scars.
Concealing the blemishes
with affectionate kisses.

Two hearts, once hollow
now filled with fresh love.
Two black shadows,
now glowing in the dark.

We face the uncertain truth
as our silhouettes talk.
Slowly, gently we merge into
O N E ...

People who down vote on this site should be banned, smh. I love this poem Sara. Soulmates are special when its in the name of love. I can relate to this people very well because my wife and I are soul mates. The metaphors here are interesting and clever and well written. Each stanza shows how much you can fall in love over time and within that time. I love when two people can meet and it is unexpected, that is what I believe the meaning is here. Through your eyes, you were hesitating about what love is and falling, but slowly over time, two hearts can heal and within that the scars don't matter because kisses over take them and hearts fully heal. Great write sara. 5/5
