Reflection

We were warned not to go there, to the house in the woods,
Where they say the dead walk in the halls,
The windows all broken and covered in webs,
In a place where all moving things crawl...

As we stood in the threshold our hearts racing fast,
Silently we walked through the room,
I could feel you tremble as your tears start to fall,
In this place that reeks of a violent doom...

Noises are heard that can't be explained,
And there are screams that chill to the bone,
With only the candle to light our way,
As she screams now she just wants to go home...

The hallways are long and the light here is dim,
In this place filled with pungent smells,
Knowing they lurk in the shadows and walls,
Where evil still thrives and spirits cast spells...

The floor creaks beneath you as you take your first step,
As you make your way cautious and slow,
You can feel that something stands with you,
But there is no where else you can go...

On the edge of the hall way you look in a mirror,
And the fear brings you right to your knees,
For standing there in the reflection,
Is the nightmare of all of your dreams...

There it is and it is standing in front of you,
Looking straight into the glass,
And that's when you turn and try to scream,
At the reflection that is staring back...

Something grabs you from behind,
You can feel the pain in your chest,
Why is it you didn't listen,
You will die here just like the rest...

Screams continue while the music chants,
A reminder of everything scorned,
Just remember as you both fade away,
You should have listened when you were warned...
