Earth

We are they
who rushes past
everything sacred,
blinded by fury
and grief

We are the father
that made the Gods,
and we are the lover
of the mother

Earth, solid and strong,
unbending yet breaking,
seemingly indestructible
but generous at her core

How sad is it then,
that our love created
all life, and every breath
with the world inside our cradle

How sad is it then,
that our children
had their own,
and even created time

How sad is it then,
that it is our grandchildren,
blinded by greed and gluttony,
that are now killing us,

for we are abandoned
by both Gods and Men,
and we are left shackled
to our bleeding

How sad is it then,
that our love shared
is the primary reason
that we are slowly

dying
