The Frost Princess

I decided to try
to stop breathing
when I realized
what she meant
when she called me
the frost princess

I wanted to try
to consciously
embody the cold--
I wanted to understand
the neverending winter
she attributed to me

Because I burned inside
whenever I saw
her enthralling radiancy
explode out of my Girl of Stars,
the harbinger of my dawn

So when she vanished
from my life's sky,
I beckoned to the ice
to caress my flesh,
to forever capture
my beautiful grief

Without her to break
the isolation I create,
I am left in a world
where happiness
bleeds you dry of hope,
and your presence

I am left in a world
where satisfaction
means that you've
finally given up,
and is a grave
for your dreams

I'm left in a world
where living simply means
that you are always
dying

Beautiful imagery. Your words evoke a memory, feelings of how I felt with my love - trying to love her when all she wanted to do was kill herself. I am glad you have words to find voice for your pain - words help.

Yeah. It's hard to reject the words of Buddy Wakefield when he said that "It takes a long time to make love with someone who hates themselves"
