Dorian Gray

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 18, 2015

You have a mind that's shallow.
but do you possess a soul?
Your story's hard to swallow,
yet your father had a goal.
You're his image and likeness
though you refuse to see it
you often lack his kindness,
an ill will wants to free it.
Picture of a heart grown cold,
portrait of self destruction,
the essence that you have sold
requires no introduction

MICHAEL, if something I would publicly and genuinely say, it's that you are something different here. You have your own Mike-Style, you have something unique, I think I can read a poem and instantly feel that it is yours by the style and word choice. It''s always always always always thought provoking. You would never write a poem without a message.

I found this poem to be very unique, very special and many people would relate to the thoughts you in here.

I really think at oont point we all fail to be the image of our parents. Sometimes we struggle to be the good people we are supposed to be too.

Your opening lines are really powerful, the whole poem is.

    loved it
