First Thing We Do . . .

by Larry Chamberlin   Jan 23, 2015

What recompense is there to a malcontent?
Perhaps it's better to do away
with this bothersome person
and pretend that all is well.

Sweep under the carpet all that foment
resistance or the order betray
before the status they worsen
and send all the work to hell.

The best thing about your poems is that they are never written for no purpose, I doubt you'd ever write a poem that does not hold a message or a moral or a sentiment that provokes the reader's thoughts!

Your question opening the poem held curiosity in my mind as well, the option you've suggested but didn't pen it down as an absolute choice, using the word perhaps reflecting uncertainty.

Thr 2nd stanza was more mysterious, I'm still wondering about the last line, it wass powerful and expected, I have a lot of thoughts mixed and fighting as which meaning to take or option to believe is my right choice, and to that I give you credit!

    Very impressive! <3
