Buried.

I buried my heart in the sand,
In hopes that you would find it.

I buried it right there,
And sure enough, you found it.

You cracked it open,
And there it was.

I just hoped that my heart would be enough.

You held it and hugged it,
With every bit of you.

However, it fell,
And that's when I knew.

No matter how broken it could get,

I buried my soul in the dirt,
