Seasoned Hearts (Eintou)

by Meena Krish   Feb 4, 2015

Disliked
hearts wed with smiles-
marriage handcuffed its life,
Seasons thawed iced feelings...love hatched,
a long road traveled as
combined hearts gaze
with love.

The Eintou begins in line one with two words/syllables, builds
to eight words/syllables in line 4, and comes back down to
two words/syllables in line seven. African belief is that
everything goes in cycles. They believe that all things eventually
go back to where they originate. This poetic form shows that
cycle by starting with two syllables/words, and ending with
two syllables/words.

    marriage handcuffed its life,

    ^^

A sad state of affairs, unfortunately true too often, but given a little time and effort, love can blossom.

I hope you are well, Meena.
    Take care,

This is a poem read at its depths not at the level of words,
I am taken with the content of this poem wandering with thoughts of life in general and the choices that could lead to such..

Brilliant form and brilliantly penned, loved your ideas!
    Thanks for sharing. <3
