My Tickless Heart:

by Scott Cole   Feb 5, 2015

You turn the pin
slowly to the right,
And wind the gears
till they are tight.

You set it down
on the tabletop,
If you wound it good
it's hard to stop.

It jumps around
and spins about.
The tight gears
slowly winding out.

As it moves along
the slower it goes,
And with each next tick
could be the last you know.

One last turn
and it's on it's side,
You pick it up
And wind one more time.

You lay it down
like you did before,
And watch it move
across the floor.

That was My Tickless Heart
before it met you,
It was rarely wound up
it hardly ever moved.

It just layed around
on it's side,
Not a single tick
from the gears inside.

You took my Heart
you turned my pin,
You wound me up
you made it spin.

You set it down
and it jumped about,
You made my gears
wind slowly out.

Now My Tickless Heart
is wound so tight,
For you wind me up
night after night.

Thanks to you
my Heart ticks again,
It ticks better now
than it ever did.

You wound me up
you turned my pin,
Caused My Tickless Heart
to tick once again.
