Dayshift:

by Scott Cole   Feb 5, 2015

My friend your friend shows her face,
She clocks in then takes her place.

Slowly emerges then stands tall,
While peering down on us all.

So true and certain shows the way,
But forth comes another day.

Does her job seeks no applause,
And does it spotless without pause.

She beams with beauty and with hope,
Creating sunshine and smiles as she goes.

Creeps oh so slowly across the sky,
So our days they will not fly.

Wants all on Earth to be just fine,
So she does her best to really shine.

Knows her position in this World,
And lives up to it like a good girl.

She's know to the World as the Sun,
Without her help we'd all be done.

So look to the Sun now and then,
Give her thanks cause she's our friend.

As nighttime nears and time for bed,
She punches the clock lowers her head.

Off once againt till morning time,
When she punches in and makes her climb.
